You have to do what you have to do!

It was 5:30 AM and the outside temperature was 1° F. The cat, who refuses to use the litterbox, had to go out. The human opened the door. When the cold air hit the cat's face, she let out a loud "whoof". She shook her head, braced herself for the onslaught, and charged out the door.

And this human doubled over with laughter as she shut the door. I have never heard a cat make that noise before. And I could almost hear her saying to herself, "I have to do this, I must go outside to pee." Needless to say, she took care of business and was quickly ready to come back in.

It's Static Time!

The humidity is really low here now. The static electricity is flying. This is a little poem I always used with my students at this time of year. If you have cats or some other furry pet, you have probably had a similar experience. My cats haven't given up lapsitting, but they have been shocked a few times in the last couple of days.

Why Cats Hate Winter

I pity Prue, my pretty cat,
Whom everybody loves to pat.
They chase poor Proozle here and there,
to rub their fingers in her hair.

In winter’s air, Prue’s hair, you see
has static electricity...
The lightest stroke, and sparks appear.
And when they do, Prue’s out outta here!

One spark, last week, from hand to nose,
Fried the fur between her toes.
Small wonder cats are oft aloof,
Prue’s only safe up on the roof!

A New Site for DigiScrappers

I have really been enjoying Janet Phillips' new website, the DAILY DIGI. There are only a few blogs that I read daily, but this one has been added to the list.

The DAILY DIGI is not a new store, but an information site. Janet is just getting started, but she plans information for the beginning digiscrapper, as well as those who have been digiscrapping for a while. There will be inspirational articles, challenges, hybrid projects, computer tips, tips for journaling and photography, and lots more. There will be "grab bags" called the Digi Files for sale with items from contributing designers. You can find out more about it on her site.
